What a lovely home you have and a beautiful garden, such a nice neighbourhood. How lucky you are. (not sure she would have used the term luck though)
Anyway this householder burst into tears and shut the door on them and has refused to answer the door to them ever since. Reason she got so upset was because she had just given birth to a severely disabled child who was not expected to live long. She says she can’t believe that people can come around making statements like that to complete strangers on their own door steps without knowing a thing about them.
I’m now reading through the thread and learning about peoples views on JW’s and other religious cold callers.
I can almost imagine using that opening statement myself when going door to door many years ago. Or something similar.

I have a 6 yr old. We talk lots about values and how we want to be treated and how we should treat others. Try to get them thinking, ask questions.
Do you have something specific in mind?

Especially for Cedars - My Cunning Plan. Or maybe not
by not bitter inuntil the conti case came to light, i was not aware of the extent of child abuse going on in the org.
and i was completely unaware of the jw policies on these matters.
i read their offical policy on child abuse on jw.org and was gob smacked to say the least.

Giordano - I am most definitely out. I left about 20 years ago but am very close to my parents providing we don't discuss the truth.
ABibleStudent - I live in Wales, UK. We have Sarahs Law which I am guessing is similar to Megans Law. I may well look into that. Thank you

You're absolutely right Cedars
My parents would be horrified and devastated if anything like that happened to one of their grandchildren as I imagine any witness would. But when it comes to a story of a witness elsewhere its as if they have a shield or blinkers on and it hasn't really happened.
Mamochan13 - I think your idea is excellent. To use my idea as a basis but explain to them upfront that its hypothetical.
But somehow I don't think it will work even then as I know they won't have a bad word said against the society.

Entirely Possible - you need to read the post again.
I didn't do it. I had no intention of doing it. It was an angry conversation I had in my mind.
